How CricCrew collects, uses, and protects your information when you run your cricket — squads, live scoring, tournaments, and stats.
Last updated 6 July 2026Applies to the CricCrew mobile app & web app
01 Who we are
CricCrew ("CricCrew", "we", "us") is an app for running grassroots and club cricket: managing squads, scoring matches ball-by-ball, organising tournaments, and tracking player stats. This policy explains what we collect and why. It covers the CricCrew Android app and the web app at criccrew.com.
02 Information we collect
Account & identity
Phone number — used to sign you in via a one-time code (OTP). It identifies your account.
Profile details — the name and player details you add to your profile so teammates can recognise you.
Cricket activity
Squad & team data — teams, rosters, and the players you add or invite.
Match & scoring data — ball-by-ball scores, scorecards, fixtures, tournaments, and rankings.
Listings & discovery posts — "looking for players" cards and similar content you choose to post.
Optional permissions
Location — collected only if you enable it, and used solely for nearby team and match discovery. You can turn it off at any time in your device settings.
Push notifications — if you allow them, we store a device push token to send match and squad reminders.
Device, usage & diagnostics
App & diagnostic data — basic interaction and crash/performance information used to keep the app working reliably.
In-app purchases & subscriptions — payments are processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of a purchase but never see or store your card details.
03 How we use your information
To create and secure your account and sign you in.
To run the core features — squads, live scoring, fixtures, tournaments, rankings, and stats.
To send match and squad notifications you've opted into.
To provide optional nearby discovery when you enable location.
To process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions.
To show ads that keep the app free (see below), and to keep the service reliable and secure.
04 Advertising
CricCrew is free to use and may show ads. Our advertising partners may use a device advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit this at any time via Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device ("Delete advertising ID" / "Opt out of Ads Personalisation").
05 How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information.
With other users — public cricket activity such as scorecards, player profiles, rankings, and listings is visible to other people using CricCrew. Keep this in mind before posting.
With service providers — hosting, analytics, crash reporting, and advertising partners that process data on our behalf under contract.
For legal reasons — where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
06 How we protect your data
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Sign-in session tokens are device-bound and kept on your device.
We limit access to personal data to what's needed to operate the service.
07 Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing us at developer@criccrew.com. Some records may be retained where required by law. Public match records may be anonymised rather than removed to preserve the integrity of shared scorecards and tournaments.
08 Children
CricCrew is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
09 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email developer@criccrew.com.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of CricCrew after an update means you accept the revised policy.
